There are a few questions that we are often asked about our treatments and we want to make sure that you have the best information we can give you. Please have a look and see if your question is answered in the videos below. If not, feel free to contact us.
How does Colon Hydrotherapy work
Colon hydrotherapy actually instills water into the colon. It is warm, filtered water, with nothing added. There’s naturally water in this part of the large intestine, so it’s not foreign to the body.
The body draws water out of that part of the colon and draws it back up to the liver to be filtered.
You’re absorbing water back into your liver approximately every three minutes. During this process the water and other nutrients are drawn back up into the liver to be filtered. This happens all day every day,
During Colon hydrotherapy you’re getting more water in to the intestine and it’s cleaner water. This helps flush the liver, and may release more bile.
A benefit is that you are likely to get more nutrients out of your food as it processed more efficiently after the cleanse.
Benefits of Colon Hydrotherapy
Some of the benefits of colon hydrotherapy are that it releases the old waste and gas out of the bowel, colon, or the large intestine, all the same part of the body just called different names.
There can be a lot of impacted waste in the colon, which for various reasons, may have been there for quite some time.
There’s often a buildup of gas, so if you’re feeling bloated, that’s often the cause and the treatment will assist with the release of gas and bloating.
Additional Benefits of Colon Hydrotherapy
Colon Hydrotherapy Weight-loss
In colon hydrotherapy, there is often reported weight loss. However, while weight is technically lost, colon hydrotherapy does not burn or move fat – but rehydrates the body and removes bulk from the large intestine.
You may feel lighter and notice a flatter stomach but no change on the scales, and that is the reason.
Your body can absorb as much as a litre of water during the treatment, while the old waste is being flushed. You may may be the same weight, but you have traded old waste and toxins for hydration and a flushed, toxin-free liver.
It might not be until the next morning that you see a change in your weight, but remember, it’s not fat loss.
Before Colon Hydrotherapy Treatment
What do you do before your colon hydrotherapy treatment? Ideally do not to eat for about two hours before your appointment. Drinking water is always great too. Make sure you relax, try to be calm and not get too worried about the treatment because it’s quite an easy process. The environment is kept as relaxed and peaceful as possible and the clinic kept quiet with minimal waiting times.
How often is Colon Hydrotherapy needed
I’m often asked how long between sessions, or when to come back for the next treatment. That’s really up to the individual. I usually recommend at least three visits, because after a few treatments the water is able to reach higher up into the intestines, so there is more benefit from subsequent visits.
The reason is that the intestine is about five feet long, so it takes a few sessions for the water to get all the way around. It depends on your health history as to how much cleansing you will get from each session. I usually suggest 3 sessions, just to allow the water to get up a little higher and release some of that old waste and gas.
You’ll know how your body feels, what’s being released, and you’ll also sense where the water is getting to then you can start to decide for yourself what further treatments you need .
It’s good to review your goals, for why you’re here. With your bodies feedback you may feel better positioned to decide when would be best for you come back.
If it was for a maintenance reasons, you might start having a treatment once a month, and then you’ll decide whether you want to schedule a session once a month, or once every couple of months.
If you feel you need more cleansing, you might do between three and six sessions and schedule them more regularly. say one a week, until you are feel you have met your health needs.
Everyone is different, and has a different goal or reason to visit the clinic, so I think it just takes a little bit of time and after that first visit, it really takes time as to work out what works best for you.
